Comments:

APRIL FOOL...no big score here in reality.

I didn't expect to be QRV at all, as I was supposed to be out of town at a 60th
birthday party bash for someone, and then brunch tomorrow at Yosemite.
Unfortunately, *Reality* got in the way...major real estate transaction bizz
that kept me occupied much of the day today.

But I also had Grunt work to do here later. As I was moving more antennas to
the driveway so the weed spraying company can do there thing, at about 20
minutes before the start of the contest I decided oh-what-the-heck...I'll go
play for a few minutes and had out some Q's.

Although there seemed to be an absence of signals, the first 5 minutes yielded
10 Q's and at QSO #21 only one other station was ahead of me in numbers (K4BAI
:-) I decided to quit while I was sort-of ahead. Back to moving yagis.

I then remembered today was April Fool's Day, so decided to come back later on a
break and hand out a few more Q's with April Fool's numbers, and figured my
fellow NCCCers would wonder who's station I was a Guest Op at. Or, get them
motivated to keep from snoozing. So I showed up again later on 40m for a bit,
and then back outside to finish the move stuff. The RTTY QRM was 20Khz wide & I
said enough is enough.

Kinda bizarre to only have an A3 up on a 30ft slip up mast, but 3 54ft towers on
the ground, two MA-40's, an AB-577, C31-XRN, C4-SXL, (2) 204BA's, another A3 and
a TET yagi on the ground not up in the air. I may be having an antenna/tower
*driveway* sale soon!

Finished the antenna moves, ate dinner, went for a mini-power walk, grabbed
another glass of wine, but before QRVing on 80 near the end, I realized I had
bumped up the numbers too far for possible believability. Deleted some SP0OF
(SP Zero OF) Q's with the name *Fooler*, and then fired up the rig again.

Darn...I axed out a few too many Q's 'cuz N3BB had #171 to my #164 April Fool
Number. What a coincidence that the only 2 guys with higher numbers were our
two NCCC NS East of & West of Mississippi winners...John/K4BAI & Jim/N3BB.
That's REAL SP0OKY!!!

I felt bad for all the serious effort guys having such an absence of stations in
the contest, but glad I could *unexpectedly* hand out a few Q's.

Happy April Fool's Day :-)

73...

Rick, K6VVA
