Comments:

Well like everyone else from this part of the world 6M was the big story. The
higher band results clearly did suffer because of it. However I am quite
pleased that I was able to make a respectable showing on the higher bands with
a majority of the contacts being made late Saturday and through Sunday. I was
noticing the short skip on 6M a couple of times and kept an ear and eye on 2M,
there was no 2M Es here that I could find. The higher band conditions seemed
about normal, not bad, but not good, unfortunately the activity was somewhat
sparse. I did not see the spike in 2M+ activity when 6M slowed down like I
usually do; everyone must have been tired.

I was pleased to sweep K8GP (@~650 miles) on all 4 of my bands, I think that's
only the second time that I've ever done that. I was hoping to hear some of the
other East/Mid Atlantic powerhouses on 2M and above as well, no such luck

Other than the chronic PC reboots (not RF related) and powerline noise @S3-5 in
some directions the equipment played well. The one other problem was that the
poor Pegasus IF radio was getting munched by the big signals on 6M. That needs
to be an area of focus for future improvements. Can't live without spectrum
sweep or point and click tuning though. I guess I better get serious about
getting the SDR-1000 on line for transverter IF duties.

In the end I set a new person all time high score. Beat my previous best by
about 40K. I can see that there are some really big scores already. Gotta love
VHF contesting, there are just so many different propagation modes and
conditions that can swing the outcome so dramatically from one contest to the
next.
