Comments:

Propagation was not the best, but I worked many EU and JA stations using 100
Watts. I was fortunate to have very low noise level and could RX weak signals
well. This did not seem to be the case for EU stations at times.

I like this scoring system where points are awarded for DISTANCE. It makes
scoring simple (using the formula). I hope more contests adopt this method.

The PA QSO PARTY was running during Makrothen and slowed the rate at times. It
was necessary to decode which contest they were CQing before answering a call.
It was not a big problem, but it added a little time to find QSO's. This was
the first year the PaQP added the RTTY mode.

I also enjoy the 8-8-8 hour contest format. It provides a nice break to
participate in family events.
