Comments:
Well the smoke has settled and that's it for another CQWW CW - I ended up with a
better score than last year and managed to do that while working less qsos, so I
guess that means I'm either lucky or recent improvements to the antennas have
allowed me to work more zones and countries. I actually ended up working 87
countries, which is not bad for a little pistol.
Highlights were working HC8N on all bands 80 - 10 plus working 5A7A for a new
DXCC country.
Already making plans for next year!!
VA3DF consists of an Elecraft K2 with a SteppIR 3 element beam at 50 feet and a
90 foot inverted L (45 feet both horizontal and vertical). The inverted L is
used on 40 and 160 and for 80 I use a 120 foot doublet fed with ladder line. At
least, that's the arrangement for now - we'll see about next year...
