Comments:
The thing I'm happiest about with this score is that I had plenty of reasons to
cut my weekend short because of family, XYL, band conditions, etc., but I kept
grinding and grinding away - and it paid off.
Saturday night was probably one of my best nights ever in contesting - not all
because I got on a mult roll, but because I was so close to calling it a night
on several occasions because of S9 local QRM.
But then a light bulb went off and I hooked up my four inverted L's for 80
meters to my receive antenna on the TS-2000 and suddenly all that noise was
gone. Suddenly I could hear DX and hear the stations out west and slowly
through the night I worked them one by one. NE, WY, AB, SK, AZ and then KP4,
6Y, C6 and KV4. I just couldn't get to mult #50 though.
If you had a contact with me, it was all on tape as usual, with 100% recorded
voice files and Writelog. Since there was a recent thread on cq-contest about
recorded files for contesting, I hope to post some of them to show you what it
sounds like. The CQ Machine did a fine job this weekend again.
