Comments:

Following a storm this part week, I have no 20 operating meter stack and the 3
element 40 meter yagi is wounded. But the *real* problem is that the lightning
hit resulted in a strong (10-20 db over S9) line noise QRN on all bands at the
regular station. Earlier this afternoon I worked Ted, N9NB/m who was in a round
table with his pal Tom (N9NC and SU9NC) who is in Indiana with a "fixed mobile"
setup in his car, and W5JAW in Austin. We all agreed to get in the NS. And we
did! Ted stopped in MO as we had talked about it earlier and I could not recall
much if any activity from MO in the NS. So there!

My 100W and the Yaesu ATAS 120A seemed to work well, and I drove around my
neighborhood and stopped where the line noise was a minimun. It was pretty
quiet on 20 and decent (S7) on 20. I seemed to get out really well on 20, and
took the usual lumps on 40.

Stations worked the most, who win the mythical N3BB "good ears" award!

5-K7NV
4-VA3NR
3-K7SS, N9CK

My last contact was with some guy signing N9RV. Great to hear Pat back on.
Where is Montana?

:-)

See everyone in Dayton next week.

Jim
