This was a real struggle, and the numbers tell much of the story.Only 3
continents!(Never worked SA-heard 4M5RY).Conditions were some of the worst that
I have experienced during a contest.Then I made the tactical error of hitting
the sack (can't make it through the night anymore)when activity slowed Sat.nite
so I could make a fresh run to the finish line and maybe pick up some missing
Conts.Wrong!
Back in the saddle around 07:30Z and was greeted with a noisy, empty band.Made
2 Qs in two hours-neither were mults.Hopes of hitting 1,000,000 pts, fading
fast.Started hearing Europe on 20 around 10:30 but prop just wasn't
there.Mostly, S & P until the finish.Some stations have some great ears.Worked
SP9ODY right at the flag to finish 400pts. shy of the million.Would have made
it had a PD2 station not ruled that we were a dupe when I called; but I have
news for you.Your're not in my log! Oh, well, one shy of working all SP
Provinces on 20, also, so it seemed appropriate.
Worked several stations on all of the only 3 bands available to me.Saw but
never worked 7X0RY, usually an easy AF mult.But as 'they' say,a bad day
contesting is better than a good day at work.Hope we got into your
log.73,Bill.
ps.Forgot to mention time out to watch NHL playoffs(a Canadian contester's
handicap),particularly,my beloved Red Wings.
