Comments:
My story this contest is about a new way of contesting for me. My contest
station was operated remotely from my home. I no longer have a radio station at
home. I have been constructing a station to be used primarily for contests
located 8 hours from my home. This past winter I had broadband internet
installed in the remote shack. I thought it would be nice to set up a web cam
and watch the place from my home. I did a bit of research and started the
process of controlling the station through the internet. There is still work to
be done but I see lots of progress. I now control 3 rotors, A-D bands,
amplifiers, and 2 computers through the internet. I encourage those not able
to set up a station at home to consider using the Internet and get your
antennas mounted on that big tower you always wanted on top of your favorite
mountain!
