Er... not a winning score I think. This contest will go down as one of those
where the setting up is best forgotten. How can it take 6 hours to put a 160m
dipole on a tower... Only when as you haul it up the ropes, feeder and cables
all suddenly twist together, and it does this every time even after replacing
rope, untangling and laying everything out carefully etc - about 10 times.....
Eventually got it up at least near to normal height and not vert twisted, but
didn't have 80m dipole and ran out of time to wind up other towers fully, so
40m yagi @ only 17m, 20/10m monos right down and useless - I almost never used
them and this antenna chaos also meant that the antenna switching in shack was
even more ungainly than usual! Good job it was a European contest. Started
about 10 mins late.
Conditions on 15 & 10 very patchy and spent a lot of time in first few hours
trying to squeeze mults out there which hit rate and closed almost completely
very quickly. 20 and below in better shape though and not too much static on
LF.
Rig : 2 x FT1000MP + Alpha 87A
Ant : 160m - Dipole @ 25m
80m - 4 square
40m - 402CD @17m
HF - TH5 @ 30m + 204CD @ 8m + 205CA @ 10m
Thanks to all for the QSOs and to Bob, G4BAH for the use of the station again!

Andy, G4PIQ
