Finished assembling my K3 late Friday evening then went off to Austin Saturday
morning for a ham convention, not returning until after the contest started.
Shack is still in disarray from major remodeling and was not practical to set
up a second radio so it was just one radio - the new K3. Did not get started
until 1904 but the first hour was great - 118 Q's. I believe that is a personal
best for NAQP. Had to take prime low band time off in the evening to help the
XYL so did operate a full 10 hours but this was not supposed to be a serious
effort anyway.
K3 worked great except for about an hour when I did not realize I had the noise
blanker on and experienced what I thought was front end over load. I do miss a
"panadapter" band display but it is a really wonderful little radio. Looking
forward to having it side by side with my Orion.
