Bad conditions -- just didn't hear many EUs other than the huge guns that make
it over the pole no matter what. Lots of lightning this weekend, so was off for
many hours and kept the tower nested with the yagi at 25' for most of my time on
(ran the amp as LP with no antenna height was hopeless).
Sent QTCs in small batches on Friday night and Saturday, taking advantage of
any brief opening I found. Got rid of all but 7 QTCs, and felt lucky to do
that. Sunday I called CQ for about an hour over three or four sessions and
didn't get a single reply. No new ones heard to take QTCs, either. Just 24 EU
countries worked on 20M. Heard one or two others but couldn't work 'em in such
rough conditions.
I did work three Qs on 40M vs. none the previous year. Those three countries
are good for 9 very welcome mults I didn't have in 2007.
