Comments:

Twenty meters gave us W7s one of the best days in MONTHS to EU on Saturday.
It started at 7AM and and lasted all day, with the far west edge of
Spain LOUD in the mobile as I drove up to K7RI for the sprint. Well guess
you can't have it all in one day, cuz 20 only lasted about 40 minutes into
the states as the Sprint started. Was hoping for one of those 20m sprints
where
you can ping pong all night on two spots working Qs all over the country. It
wasn't to be. Switched to 40 at 0039 and it was open nicely into the midwest
and southeast. EGAD!!! 3+ hours to go and still bright sunlight outside.
LUCKILY 40 held strong right up to the end of the contest. Lots of casual ops
stopped by for a QSO and that made all the difference this time. THANKS! If we
had had only the "regulars" it would have been dry times really quickly.
Noticed a real lack of strong N5TR, K5GO, W5KFT, W5JAW, K5XR, N3BB, K5OT,
N4OGW, KZ5D, K5NZ etc W5 signals. Wish them the best for a quick recovery from
HURRICANE IKE. Highlight was getting pretty close to a WAS. Thanks to team
members of the Corner Pocketeers W7OM, K7ZS, K7ZSD, K7RL, K7WA and N6TR.
Thanks again to K7RI for the use of the best city lot station in the country.
Congrats to KH7XS for a great number from 2500 miles away from the action,
(looks like top QSOs Bill !) and very good numbers from neighbors W7WA and
K7RL. A good horse race up here in the NW. See you all in the 30 minute mini
sprints on Thursday evenings. Where else in radiosport do you GET TO work dupes
and actually look forward to doing so! Check out "NCCC NS" on google.com to get
info. ALL IN ALL, GREAT FUN..! THANKS ! 73 de Dan K7SS.
