IC7000 - LK500ZB (KW) until Sunday morning
TS930S - SB200 (350 watts) replacement

Field Day Antennas on 2 AB-577s:
ATB-34 at 55 ft, 40-2CD at 60 ft, Wire verticals for 80/160.

This was supposed to be SO1R but ended up being SO2R, not at the same time. The
amplifier T/R relay got stuck on for awhile, then wouldn't operate at all on
Sunday morning. So I replaced it with my old SB200 but the IC7000 didn't like
the input impedance. I had to use my 25 year old TS930S to drive it but the
tubes were flat and I could only get about 350 watts out. Nonetheless, it
worked okay but not as well as the higher power. I should have suspected
something would happen as I had everything set up by Friday at 9 am. In the
past I have been setting things up right up to the start of the contest.

I had 57 mults by late Saturday night but never heard Yukon. I listened on 15m
a few times and never heard a peep. I made some contacts on 160m for the first
time as a result of the 5 UTC note in the rules. But it was all over in less
than a half hour. I would like to see a note about 160 SSB at 5:30 UTC.

My antennas are Field Day types which go up on Thursday or Friday depending on
winds and only take about an hour to put up. They will come down this morning
in about half that time.

Lots of QSO numbers in the single digits. Activity in this contest is very
high which makes it such a great contest. Jeff Stai's (WK6I) contribution of
Twisted Oak wine to the top 20 contestants is a great incentive to stay in the
chair.
                                      73, Kurt, W6PH
