Comments:
In recognition of the 75th anniversary year of SS, PVRC decided to recognize two
of the club's most revered founders by having their call signs active for this
year's SS. It was indeed an honor for me to be able to activate the call sign
of my dear departed mentor, friend, antenna guru/installer, property manager,
airport picker-upper, shopping adviser -- you name it and he did it for me --
Lenny Chertok, who we sadly lost to cancer on 24 June 1993.
W3GRF is now the PVRC club call sign and I thank club trustee Mike Cizek, W3MC
for making the call sign available for my use this weekend. PVRC has printed
W3GRF QSL cards and they are available for an SASE.
Except for PR and NL all the sections called me, so I can't rule out having had
an assist from Lenny out there somewhere.
