Comments:

Wow! I sure hope my last QSO was good. I worked JH4UYB, Masa. If it is good it
would be the first Asian station I've ever worked on 160. If not I guess I'll
end up with a NIL. Then immediately following that QSO at 13:01Z, Suddenly
Murphy struck. My SWR instantly rose and I was unable to again load the Delta
Loop on 160. At first I thought it might be bad cable jumper in my my system. A
thorough check however determined that not to be the case, so I dropped out of
the last 2 hours. This afternoon on more checking I have found that the ground
return of the Delta Loop is now open. Apparently it has failed at the juncture
of the feed line and the loop. The loop loads on all of the other bands except
160, so apparently the center connector is still connected to the loop. It
reads DC open on the Ohm meter. So I'll get out tomorrow and take the
connctions outside apart.I guess I need to check those more frequently. I thank
all the KB'ers who gave me points. Aside from the JA, my most distant contact
was N2IC in NM, 1,230Km. 73 to all, and a Happy and Safe New Year. Bert, K6CSL
