Comments:
I definitely was not motivated to participate in this contest. Since I was on a
team as part-time, I eventually jumped into the fray -- almost 3 hours after the
opening bell. My grandson, Cal, a.k.a. Kid, K0DXC, called me on the phone and
urged me to get into the contest. I don't care much for phone contests. I
searched and found a microphone (rarely used at this QTH), started late, and
conditions were mostly poor. I dabbled at making QSOs off and on. Just not
much fun compared to CW. :)
After working several stations on 160, I heard some CW activity and checked it
out. The band was hopping with many EU stations with good signals. I promptly
dropped out of the phoney baloney and chased / worked many EU stations on 160
CW, with LP -- several new countries -- for about 2.5 hours. Now, that was
fun!
It was fun to hear voices of / work some familiar calls, though. Thanks for
the Q's. 73, Gary
