Comments:
SOAPBOX: This was a laid-back operation this time. Sprint isn't one of my
favorite
SOAPBOX: contests, so I figured I'd just do a mix of CQ and S&P and see what
happened.
SOAPBOX: It was my first Sprint using N1MM Logger, so had a few occasions of
fumble-
SOAPBOX: finger-itis and lost one or two Qs.
SOAPBOX:
SOAPBOX: This outing helped me understand the fairytale princess who claimed
that "You
SOAPBOX: have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince". I called many stations
that
SOAPBOX: couldn't seem to hear me, or where I was stepped on by stronger
signals. After
SOAPBOX: the contest was over, I figured that I had an average rate of 3.5
minutes between
SOAPBOX: QSOs.
SOAPBOX:
SOAPBOX: 20m went dead for me around 0045Z, so dropped to 40m to see what I
could stir up.
SOAPBOX: About 0215Z 40m began to get a bit thin, so I stepped down to 80m and
bagged some
SOAPBOX: sprinters there. Ran out of new stations I could hear so went back up
to 40m for
SOAPBOX: a quick look-around and picked up three more. Then stayed on 80m 'til
the end.
SOAPBOX:
SOAPBOX: I had the most mults on 40m, but the most QSOs on 80m. In general,
20m was a
SOAPBOX: let-down, with only 10 QSOs in the first 45 minutes. I did bag AK,
but never
SOAPBOX: heard HI. I almost always work HI if they are on.
SOAPBOX:
SOAPBOX: Thanks to all for the Qs. Now to get ready for CQ WPX RTTY next
weekend.
SOAPBOX: 73, Bob N6WG
SOAPBOX: The Little Station with Attitude
