Comments:
Failed miserably in my half-hearted attempt to capture Don G3XTT's current "160m
Assisted" record for England.
A high-level of local power-line noise marred what was otherwise a fun weekend
on 160m. Also conditions on 160m did not seem to be as nearly as good as had
been when G3TXF last did a single-band entry on Topband in CQWW CW 2006.
Having eventually been worn down by the line noise problem on 160m, the last
seven hours of the contest were spent on 80m in the "check-log" category.
It's always fun to be the new boy on the band during the dying hours of a
contest - when even a lowly G can cause massive Cluster-induced pile-ups!
