Thanks all for the Q's and fun Thursday evening! Worked some relatively new
folks, KO7X-Alan, KY4F-Doug, K0PC- Pat, K0AD- Al- Ok some regulars some new,
just been a while!, hi.

Checked 20m before the test, NADA!- not 1 signal. Did the SNS and 40m sounded
great and the band to start on.. BOY, signals fantastic, easy to work couplets,
etc.. lots of fun, spent 11 minutes for 21 Q's, easily my best band rate wise.
Had both shorter and longer skip, instead of being really long as in past
weeks.

Went to 80m, and that was a slugfest, had a hard time tuning the broken
vertical, and the dipole crashed due to ice loading, it was a true NVIS
antenna, part on the ground, part hanging in the guys wires. HI!. Took a
minute extra to get tuned up due to needing a tuner, and then didn't get
answers to CQ's or to S/P until a few minutes in.. spent 10 minutes for 15 Q's,
usually much better on this band, but with broken antennas not surprising.

Last 9 minutes on 160m, it wasn't bad, actually got answers better closer in
tonite instead of the typical very long skip.. still not excellent rate there,
athough the antenna worked fine.

Boy, sure love the beverages on 80/160, couldn't hear without them.LOTS of
power line noise. And even those were dragging close to the ground with ice..

Hope we can get through the next few days without further antenna damage, we
are supposed to get rain/ freezing rain and then up to 10 inches of snow on top
of that, and then up to 40 mph winds, could get ugly!!

Thanks guys for the great fun, some day will get set up at KD0S for SO2R during
the NS, just don't have the antennas for it yet, maybe next summer.

73 , hope to work you in Jan VHF this weekend, Lord willing and if the antennas
hold up. Have 6/2/and 432, 222 antenna not working.

Todd WD0T
