I must thank the local power company for allowing me to operate in this contest.
The day before the contest, a power line connection located in a direct shot
towards Europe was arcing like crazy, causing S9 noise in that direction.
Called them late Friday afternoon, and they immediatly dispatched a crew to
repair it. By 6 PM all was quite again.
Turnout and band conditions were much better than expected. Pulled the plug
with 7 hours left in the contest, rates were getting too slow unfortunately.
Want to congratulate two operators who were really smokin, K1SFA and P40YL.
Highlight of the contest was working a station that gave me a 001 exchange,
then mentioned I was their first ever RTTY QSO.
