Comments:

Did a 40M single-band effort for this one, and had a GREAT time. Many thanks to
the stations who pulled my signal out - there are some really talented operators
out there.

With a little pistol station and antenna (100 watts to a dipole), I set my
goals for this WPX a bit differently than the last time around. I didn't hear
Europe, Africa or Asia as much as I had expected/hoped, but worked a moderate
handfull of stations in those areas. US, OC and SA were pretty much as
anticipated, and I worked more Canadians than I'd planned on. I totally
exceeded my goals regarding the number of Q's for this contest and it was
interesting to see how far I could actually go as different plateuas were
reached.

On the 'other-side-of-the-coin'..... I also re-afirmed the wisdom of
installing/testing new antennas well before an operation - I ended up with some
really good elevated dummy loads - and I even put them up at night.....

Again, thanks to the stations I worked and to the contest sponsors for my best
SSB WPX to-date.

73,

John,
WA7NWL
