Comments:
Thanks to the Polish Radiovideography Club for sponsoring the Contest. Enjoyed
it. Good participation, especially from the SP stations. Nice meeting all the
operators new to RTTY contesting as well as friends from many past RTTY
contests. Thank you for all the QSOs.
Started slow as the band conditions were not very good on this end. Fifteen
was not productive as all the signals heard were weak. Never did hear anything
on ten meters. Tough working stations on twenty meters. Fortunately, twenty
meters to Europe did pick up around 2000z.
The lower HF bands were okay until the storms started to cause a lot of QRN.
The last 2.5 hours of the Contest found twenty meters to be in good shape which
was a surprise as thought the band would not be open that early, especially
after yesterday's dismal propagation. Did have to disconnect the antenna and
other outside connections, and shut down for half hour around 1030z to let a
thunder storm pass.
Total operating time was 16.5 hours as just could not stay awake the full 24
hours. The equipment held up a lot better than the operator:>) Definitely a
sign of getting old(er).
73,
Mike, K4GMH
