Comments:

I disabled 75% of my four square phased array by disconnecting the phasing lines
at the element feed points and installing 3 shorted PL-259s, then I ran the
transmitter feed line direct to the 4th element. After I retuned the 4th
element I found I had made an error when I entered the master oscillator
frequency in my Vector Network Analyzer. It really does pay to check your (my)
work.

Alpha gathered dust and the FT-1000D loafed along at 100 watts output and 18 dB
attenuation on the receiver.

Low power on 80m started very underwhelming. I heard many, many stations that
could not hear me. After Phoenix midnight apparently the atmospheric noise
dropped on their end and I was able to get them (and more) in the log and it
turned out to be fun.

I even managed several worth-while runs. No EU, a few SA, OC and AS along many
NA.
