WD9EWK operated from a picnic area in the Kaibab National Forest, about 20 miles
west of Flagstaff AZ along old US-66 in grid DM45ag. This was a nice way to
work Field Day and avoid the Phoenix-area heat for the day, using only battery
power and 5W output for all QSOs. A lower score than last year's effort, but
this year saw QSOs on 40m and non-FM satellites (AO-7, FO-29, VO-52) unlike in
2009.
QSO total includes 10 satellite QSOs. The total score includes 4 100-point
bonuses (100% Emergency Power, Set-up in Public Place, W1AW Field Day Message,
and Satellite QSO) and one 50-point bonus for submitting a summary to ARRL
through the b4h.net applet.
