This will have to be a check log because I ran 1.5 KW, but had fun (most of the
time) and had some really good runs going at times. Was just happy to hand out
KL7 mults to a lot of guys. Not to mention that I feel like I am getting some
of my contesting skills back after many years of laying back.
Band conditions were surprisingly good on 20 which stayed open longer than I
expected. 40 wasn't too bad, and I experimented with using the tribander as a
receive antenna to reduce the noise...it worked pretty well most of the time.
Some RF in the shack cause the computer to completely reboot once (using the
loop) so I went back to the SteppIR vertical. I was real careful so I didn't
set off the fire alarm like I have done a few times on 40.
