Comments:
Conditions were not good here. Only four zone 3 whilst normally there is a
period when the NA west coast can be run. East coast USA signals were down
from normal. Only one zone 19 worked while normally there are many. No JA
or BY worked only one JA heard, I normally work at least a few JA. Sunday
morning I went to bed at 4:30 Z as the Q rate was so low - this of course was
an error but my body was all for it.
The band was not that crowded and for the most part it was relatively easy to
find an operating spot. Hope we see better propagation for the ARRL 160M
contest next weekend.
Thank you for your patience and QSOs.
I went assisted this time as I hoped to bag a couple of new countries and I
wanted to try the cluster monitoring feature of Wintest. I am not sure how
much help it was but it added to the experience and perhaps helped to keep me
awake. I admire those who choose low power and QRP for their tenacity as when
the Q rate drops so too does my resolve. One must stay in the chair to do well
but perhaps health is also important.
Thank you all for a good weekend. We will do better even those of us in
Ireland.
