Rig : FT-100MP

Antennas : Alpha Delta DXA (160M-80M-40M)
                    Force12 VR-3 (20M-15M-10M)
                    Two 3-ele monobanders (10M)

My original plan was to operate SO 10M HP.
This was rapidly dropped once I realized the
sunspots trend was not going to be as good as the previous weeks ago.

This forced me to review and retune the low bands slopper antenna,
-which over the last years, it seemed to lose his performance.

        The major findings were:
        1) Broken solder joint at the antennaÂ's feed point
        2) Bad coax cable. (it had been replaced 5 years ago)

Both were fixed 2 hours prior the contest. However, this left no time
to
        adjust the 160M portion.

Nevertheless, the above things paid off -particularly on 80M, which
improved
the performance
on this segment -tenfold on QSO's and four times better on multipliers.
The above comparison done versus the 2003 CQWW CW edition.

Lessons learned, (besides the antennas), check the connectors and
         transmission lines every year.

I really missed the Forced12 CXL on 40 thru 15M, which I sold it four
years
ago.
This left me to operate 80M thru 15M with the twin sloper and one
vertical
dipole.

        160M - Nothing here.
80M - Best performance ever, from this QTH
40M - Good rates, but lower multipliers than 20003
20M - As usual, very crowded.
15M - The stellar band on QÂ's and multipliers
10M -Charmed by the 15M rate, I missed SundayÂ's aperture on this
band.

There were two or three occasions that I could not get to decode CW
due to
saturation
on my brain. This forced me to go outside and get fresh breeze of air.

This time there were no software hiccups. N1MM worked like a charm.

So, the strategy was simple: be ATR (addict to rate) on all bands
-to compensate the lack of yagi punch.
Yeah, I know, IÂ'd should cut it at some point to do more S & P,
but it was simply too much fun.

Some additional info by N1MM logger:
