Comments:
Thanks to Jeff K4BP for letting me come over and operate his station. This was a
Saturday night only operations for me. Friday night went out for pizza with the
family and drove around looking at Christmas lights. Saturday afternoon took my
daughter to a birthday party and climbed around a huge indoor playground with 2
year olds for a couple of hours. Made it over to Jeff's about 5:15pm local
time, called CQ, and immediately had a pileup of stateside callers. Was fun
being fresh meat and had 5 consecutive 100+ hours. Stayed on the same frequency
for nearly 10 hours. Worked 69 DX stations, mostly EU and Central
America/Caribbean, but also worked 1 JA at his sunrise. Only worked 3 DX
stations S&P, all others worked calling CQ. All QSOs made on a 90' tower
reverse fed with 4 elevated radials. This antenna worked very well. Wish I
could have operated both nights but I've done 5 contests in the last 5 weekends
from 5 different locations so maybe one night was enough. Back to work now for
me, hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, I will be working and then I'm off to
Disney World for New Year's.
73, Erik N5WR
