Comments:
My regular 160 antenna, an MA160V vertical, was packed for my trip next week to
T30. Decided to erect a half wave inverted Vee Friday afternoon. Got it hung
from the 70-foot tower before dark but did not have time to trim the extra long
wires. I made about 20 QSOs Friday night even with the 6:1 SWR. Saturday
afternoon I got the Vee tuned to 1825 (cutting 12 feet from each leg). I was
quite happy with the way it played. Worked all continents and 3 new countries
-- CE, EA8, and PJ2 -- as I crawl toward low-power 160 DXCC with 85 now
worked.
Thanks for the fun and see you from T30YA beginning February 8.
73,
Bob W7YAQ
