Great contest, great operators, great activity, only the condx could have been
better. First of all I would like to thank Fabio IT9GSF for letting me operate
his station, located in the mountains in central Sicily, and for the best
imaginable hospitality plus feeding me absolutely fabulous Sicilian food during
the Contest. Initially we planned to operate one of the multi op categories, but
as other club members cancelled their participation one after another, Fabio
offered me to enter SO, which I enthusiastically accepted.
As for the contest, the highlights probably were : unexpectedly good 160 on 2nd
night, 92 W/VE on 10 - except for FL, which came direct, mostly skewed path
reflected somewhere in the carribean (did you not forget to turn
south-southeast to work me? It was possible into most of the NA up to AZ from
here). Where were VO2, VY1, VY0, VE8? Other mults were represented at least on
some bands. Thanks everybody for Q's, cu in next contest operating either at OK
CIAO Contest Club, or in Lithuania LY2W (HF) & LY2WR (VHF).
