Only had one goal: beat my previous-best for low power. Done.
Finished with 7 more mults than I have ever landed -- including my high-power
best from last year. It could have been far better with something to work over
the pole on 15M.
Things were pretty good on 15M in the final couple of hours, but no EU opening
at all. Unlike last year's phenomenal European opening that added at least 100
more Qs and 25 mults to the 2010 score.
20M was not in great shape. There were good hours but the European openings
were not really strong. Sunday morning from 1700 to 1800z I at last had a short
20M run into Europe, but it ended after 57 Qs. Some good signals in the mix,
including a few 5-watt callers. Was a wall of sound for a while as spot-chasers
all tried to get me at once. Worked the pile down to nothing, and it stayed at
nothing after that. Overall, I was disappointed with how 20M played,
considering solar numbers.
40M was very good. Wish I had the antennas to make use of it. The dipole at 27'
did an admirable job of landing the big guns, but is just a dipole at 27' (with
a wire reflector). 57 mults is the most I've had on 40M in this contest.
80M was is amazing condition overnight Saturday/Sunday morning. The JAs were
strong and plentiful, and Caribbean stations were all there for the taking.
Nice to have the 2-element vertical array working well in either direction.
Managed 9 Qs and 5 mults on 160M with KL7, KH6, XE, JA and UA0, all on Saturday
night.
Worked T30YA on 40M and 15M. Happy happy! Was great to run into the Locust at
KP2CW on 20M and 80M. Sure appreciated the dits (and mults) Rick. Kudos to XE7S
for being there "just when I thought I'd never get another mult on that band."
Happened several times.
JAs are the ops that keep things going for me, helping to partly offset poor
access to Europe. Best band for Japan was 15M, but was very pleased to work 43
on 80M and a couple on 160M.

Thanks to all the DX for the Qs, and ARRL for the contest!
