Comments:

The Tualatin Valley Contesters convened at WS7L for this one. We're a small
group of little pistols but we try to put on an attitude and go get 'em!

Conditions were good overall. Good propagation to all corners of NA, and on
what bands were open we could work almost everyone we heard. QRN was low. We
worked all states except MS and 5 provinces plus JA, KP4, KG4, HH, PY, and S5.

Listened on 10 meters a few times but had no openings to NA. 15 was pretty thin
so we put our second station on 40 at about 2300Z. A little early for the West
Coast but we had wrung 15 dry and the move picked our rate up. 20 had been the
money band up to that point but you can see that 40 nearly caught up with it
and 80 turned out very strong.

We had quite a number of good runs where we were able to hold a frequency and
occasionally get rates into the triple digits on the "last ten" counter. K2PO
logged a record at 180 Q/hr. This is considered fantastic at my modest station!
So it was a very pleasing experience and challenged our typing abilities.

It was also educational for some of our ops who weren't very familiar with RTTY
or had not worked the mode since the days of the mechanical monsters.

XYL Kathy, KC7USE, made sure ops were well fed and watered, with just a little
help from me. She also helped me put up my spare R7 vertical in the
sub-freezing dawn.

Station: 2 x K3 + HF2V vertical (40/80) + R7 vertical (20/40) + R6000 vertical
(15). N1MM software + MMTTY.

73 and thanks for all the fish ^H^H^H^H^H Q's!
Carl WS7L
