Every time I heard N5AW he had 50% more QSOs than I did.
FB! Looks like the winning low power scores will be from
the Southern Crescent.

My interpretation of a Boy and his Radio means I don't have
internet access, so I could only guess at why the conditions
were so bad. When I went to bed at 0600z things seemed
normal to this low-powered operator. Even worked a couple
of stations (VK, 6W) on 15m at the 0400z hour so I went
to bed and had sweet dreams. Alas, when I heard my first
few Europeans at 1130z, their signals had that dreaded
raspy aurora sound. By Sunday morning at 1230z the usual
European beacons were S3 but the buzz was gone, while the
USA sigs were S9+ on 20m.

The last hour on 20m I endured nearly continual intentional
QRMing on 20m of the tuning-up variety. Still worked 36
people through the mess, while picking up additional QSOs
on 40 & 15.

TR4W shows I called CQ 2058 times (!) with only 324 QSOs
in the "run" mode. An answer to a QRZ is counted as a
run QSO but not a CQ.

Last year I had only 278 European QSOs compared with 393
this year so I guess on balance conditions were better
than last year, but it sure didn't seem like it at the time.
