Comments:
This is the first time I've operated the IARU contest. Since I didn't
know what to expect, I didn't set an particular goals.
I was able to operate the first 9 hours with only a few breaks to fix
lunch and snacks for my child. However, around 2130Z I had to stop
for 3 hours to fix dinner and make a run to the store for some sunburn
cream, among other parental duties. So I missed some presumably nice
Asian and Oceania multipliers. Also I arrived at each of the low
bands somewhat late, and missed presumably nice multipliers on 80 and
160. So I stopped around 0500Z so I could be lazy instead of
dedicated.
Briefly heard Z21BB on 10 meters and a few of his European callers.
Worked 3 or 4 southern Europeans on 10. E skip maybe? I was
surprised how late 15 stayed open to Europe. Is that a summer
propagation phenomenon? I don't remember this kind of propagation
when I was a kid.
Next year!
