SAT: only 2 Es (C6 & VP5).....all else was scatter or tropo...only 153 qsos all
day/night.
SUN: opened with good scatter to 8s, then weak Es for a few hours to 4s, then
shifted to 9/0s with strong signals but never any sustained rate (best 2 hours
of only 58 qsos per hour).
After 3PM, decided to get more grids as opposed to qsos and started to "S & P"
more as I saw the qso rates going up in 4/5-land areas for the Big Guns like
K5QE et al.
Had to keep moving antennas around from backscatter areas to Caribb to W4/W5
areas and did not try any "runs" those last few hours. Probably a strategic
mistake, in retrospect...but you never know how conditions can rapidly change
on 6M.
All in all, pretty dismal contest.....lowest score in 5-6 years.
