Comments:

I used Tom in my exchange in memory of Tom, N0SS (SK). A great guy who helped me
more than a few times and a fine CW contest op to boot. He will be missed.

It was really nice to have some decent activity on 10, worked some areas I
haven't heard in a while. Signals were all over the place, but it was fun.
Probably spent more time than I should have on the band. 15 was OK, the West
Coast opening to California was so-so at best. 20 was OK, picked up a number of
multipliers towards the end of my 10 hours.

40 was noisy but very good with the new "temp" sloping dipole. Just built this
with better wire and changed the orientation for domestic purposes.

80 and 160 were noisy too. Regional storms bypassed my QTH, but were close
enough to be heard. Jury rigged a new match for the 160m antenna and, although
less than optimum, it worked well enough with the internal ATU. Still have
plans to completely revamp the antenna, been too hot and nasty.

Wound up in the ER right after the contest. I had done a lot of edging (weed
whackin') around the property and then mowed. Mucho pollen and dust in the air.
My right eye looked like a neon red stoplight and by the end of the contest both
eyes were nearly swollen shut. Was kinda pleased with myself considering the
impaired vision throughout the test, managed to only goof up a few times on the
keyboard.

Thanks for your patience and QSOs. It was good to work old friends and see some
newer calls playing.

73 and CU in the next one,
Julius
