Score includes 300 bonus points for working K4TCG.
We're mod parents for Hesston College this year, which means XYL/Lorna managed
to schedule a get together for 14 YL students for late afternoon and evening.
Knowing I'd have to QRT, and being tired from the aftermath of the Kansas QSO
Party, I got on for the first few hours, then took a nap. That really revived
my spirits as did the FB mobile action:
N4ZZ/26, W4NZ/19, W4SIG/8, AD8J/5, N4Q/3, W4OQG/1, KJ4BIX/1. I didn't pick up
KJ4BIX until late, but when I did they were really loud. I asked them where
they'd been operating, and they said up around 14320. I never looked that high,
but won't make that mistake again!
With about 3 hours to go, the mod came over and I left good conditions on both
20 and 40 .. in fact, they'd been good all day. I found out one of the
students was from TN, so later she visited the shack and I explained a bit
about the TNQP. Sarah got the nerve to give it a try, so I gave her the mike.
She was thrilled to work home .. might have to recruit her for Sweeps!
After everyone left, I got back on and picked up some 80m Qs to finish off the
party. Great fun as always. Thanks for the Qs!
