Comments:
Very Strange conditions as DL5AXX thundering singal at my local SS but northern
latitude EU's almost impossible to hear while Eastern and Southern EU's were
workable on East Beverage. N, NNE, and NE were essentially useless. So I
guess this means a significant skew from EU. I did manage to work SE0X and
OH2BO but with difficulty. Another strange thing was T32C who was on 160
everyday since their DX pedition started was strong, except inaudible in the SP
Warmup except close to my SR and that was a chore to get him in the log. Nearly
every day for the past 6 months when I checked 160 before dawn VK3SL, VK3PA, and
ZL3IX were easy to work. During the warm up there was not a trace of them nor
TX7M. Band was reasonably quiet early in the evening but after my local
midnight there appeared a roaring S9 plus tropical QRN which came from all
directions. I received several e mails after the event from EU stations asking
me what was wrong with my RX set up. Nearly after every CQ I would QSX to EU
but not may stations were audible even with the new Icom IC-7410's enhance DSP
and multiple Beverages in that direction.
