Band was quite noisy. After the first 10 minutes and the difficulty hearing the
stations calling me I decided to take a look at the radar. Yep, severe
thunderstorms right along the Texas/Oklahoma border. My plans to finally spend
some time playing with my brand new elevated vertical were pretty much a waste
of time.
I decided to work on some shack projects instead of fighting the noise and
occasionally made a qso or two and/or threw out a few cq's. It was obvious
that the noise was not going to go away any time soon so I just shut it all
down and finished one of my wiring projects before going to bed.
