Comments:
My first time in the NS Sprint for awhile. I got on for the LQP and had so much
fun that I thought I would get on the "regular" Thursday night activity.
Somehow, though, I showed up last week an hour late -- maybe in the summer it
starts an hour later, local (daylight savings) time. Anyway, I made it tonight
and it was great fun. I was especially impressed with 80M, with 12 QSOs and 12
mults.
The big change for me from before when I was more active is that then I was
working full-time. I think I used contesting as an escape from the stress of
my job. Now I'm retired (OK, semi-retired), and instead of being the Provost
and all the associated stuff that goes with that I'm now just teaching two
classes. I have become a double-dipper, just like the erstwhile Governor of
Texas, drawing my retirement pay and being paid for part-time work as well.
I'm enjoying retirement so much that I find lots of things to do, and the
Thursday night sprints were being shoved aside. However, it is fun, so I will
try to be semi-regular again.
73,
Dave, N5DO
