Comments:
This score is probably as good as it gets with no beams or towers, just vertical
4 squares. JA participation is definitely up and as good as it was in the
sixties and eighties peak. Huge number of Russian stations as well as many
other EU newbies. My score would have been 10-15 percent higher if I could
work deep South America. The verticals look into a hillside to the south...
Prop reports did not match conditions. 10 meters should not have been as good
as it was. Condx on Sunday end of contest were excellent. Personal best of
144/hr on 20 meters Sunday afternoon pushed the K3 to its limits hearing weak
EU stations.
K9AY loops saved 80 meter operation. Conditions seemed to improve over the
weekend with great conditions at the end of the test. Again, kudos to N4ZR and
the RBN crew, the net was bulletproof. Assisted category has given new life to
a greybeard like me with a fading memory and sensitivity to sleep deprevation.
