Comments:
The Contest Manager got his wish - good propagation for a change!
Visions of 1000 Q's on 40 died on the second night - the only real blemish on
an otherwise spectacular propagation weekend. Saturday was like being
connected to the old Dr. DX toy, choose a band, any band, and work the world.
Sunday was down on 40 but Europe came through short path on 10m!
The result is a score that beats the old USA record, but I'm sure someone east
of here will have a new, very hard to surpass record. Should be a lot of new
records this weekend, in just about every category. Competition in 5-land was
tough this year, I'll be lucky to be in the top 3. I continue to struggle to
get back into the single-op groove here in the 'States after spending 5 years
overseas and getting spoiled being part of DX multi-ops. I didn't manage off
times and band selection as well as I could have.
Much summer antenna work to do, though most things are operable, many need
maintenance. Next up: IARU HF!
