Comments:
If this is the second post... sorry but did not see an original.
Great conditions - met my goals (need to raise the bar a little) and all of the
new equipment worked in perfect harmony.
This was the first 'major' with new radio and usually in the past I have had
problems with microHam stutter and/or hangup a number of times. This time it
was flawless.
As almost everyone's scoring reflects, 15m was really a performer. (the last
hurrah before the summer doldrums?)
With the DB18 antenna, ABSO(Ts)LP is now a memory but a great tradeoff as I
felt empowered with 2 elements on 40m.
Still experiencing newfound discoveries with the new Yaesu radio but it is so
feature rich that it will take me a bit more practice to garner all of its
hidden benies. (One I like is the RIT is controlled by the VFO B knob which is
about 5 times bigger than the usual knobs provided which makes sliding those off
freq sigs very easy in the dark of the night.)
Another measure of the contest that I use - only 1/2 book read - just busy
enough to keep me plenty entertained.
Antenna: DB18- SteppIR (40-10)
Radio: FTdx5000MP
Wallet: Empty now for a while.
