Comments:
I thought this was going to be a record-breaking weekend, but the bands turned
out only so-so with M and C flaring.
I got out of the gate better than ever before, landing AF, EU, NA, SA and AS on
20M in my first five consecutive contacts. I then spent the next 15 minutes
pointed into the Pacific -- hoping for the double hat-trick with Oceania as Q
number 6 -- but gave up the chase, turned the beam and began working all
comers. Worked KH6ZM on 15M nearly two hours into the contest for the final
continent.
Some great European openings on 20M and 15M, adding great points per Q (24 to
28 or so). And although JA participation seemed thin, it was nice to know I
could get some DX in that direction for 24 points a pop just about 'round the
clock.
No ZL/VKs worked. 40M was disappointing both for activity and DX reach.
I really would have missed ANARTS each June -- this replacement is a very FB
contest, and thanks to DL-DX RTTY Contest Group for sponsoring it.
