Comments:

If I hadn't joined a team, I would have passed on this one. When I went into the
shack about 1730, I listened on 15M and there was an s-9 power line noise that
was also present on every other band. I couldn't hear anything except the very
strongest signals. I wound up CQing and switching through my beverages to try
to find a signal. The noise blanker dropped the rf level on the s-meter to s
one or two, but replaced the noise with a loud hum in the headphones that also
covered the signals. I apologize to the many that expect called to no avail.
We have heard this noise a few times in the past, but it never stayed on for
more than a few minutes or so. This time it was there to stay.
73,

Chuck
