Comments:

FT1000MP, Alpha 78, 1 KW, TH6DXX, dipole. I started at 13Z on 80M, but got no
answers and heard no one else there. Signals on 40M were quite good, but there
weren't many of them. In fact, at first there were none and I was wondering if
I had the wrong date until W6SX called me. Thanks, Hank. 20M was fair to most
of the US, but weak to Europe. A nice surprise was being called by ZS1REC on
the long path to South Africa. 15M was just opening at the end. N4YDU asked
me to move from 15 to 10M. I didn't hear N4YDU on 10M, but did work W1UU there,
so that band was open a bit at near 14Z. Ended up back on 40M, which was still
good, but there were still few signals there. DX worked: ZS1REC, F5IN (20 and
15), US0MF, UR5IF, UR5MM, GW0ETF. Non-members (and therefore prospective
members) worked were: K1GQ, W7L, N4HAI, N5MG, W7AQK. Don't know who the
operator was at W7L, but bet it was a familiar call. Thanks for all QSOs. If
all goes well, I'll be on at 03Z. 73, John, K4BAI.
