Comments:
Gave the contest a shot with my backup attic dipoles (main antenna still down
from a direct lightning strike)...tough sledding trying to get through the big
guns, and even the little pistols. I started out at 100 watts, but on Saturday
decided to flip on the amp and pump about 300 watts into the attic, and change
to assisted....all S&P. In-house electronic noise prohibited operation on 40M,
and S9 noise level on 20M only let me work the strogest of signals. At least I
could hear stuff on 15M and 10M, but they still had trouble hearing me. Quite
frustrating, but had fun anyway, and was able to contribute some points to the
Club. I should have the main antenna replaced by mid November. Hope everyone
did well and had fun with the great condx.
