Comments:

The SSB round is always a bit more problematic and hectic down here. The beach
in front of our QTH changed drastically - instead of close to 200m width it is
less then 100 m now, so we could not use the layout from the 2011 CW, which
seemed to be the good one. There were also two interesting changes - one to the
better - the jam coming from about 240 deg. disappeared and the other one to the
worse a new one from about 265 deg showed up. It was on all bands and all
antennas in various strength from 53 on 4SQ of vertical dipoles on 15m to 58 on
one of the 5Y over 5Y on 10m. The worst situation was of course on 160m. To work
stations from the States and from the West was a real challenge. After the
contest we were guessing how many million points it cost us.....

On Friday we had a big problem with an interference from 40m to 15 and 10.
Instead of taking it easy before the contest we spent practically the whole day
with it and somehow solved it without really knowing where the problem was. As
you all know sometimes the inter-band interference does not behave as expected.
Well it appeared on Sunday early evening again and we were unable to find where
the problem was, so we could not use our 4SQ there and the vertical Yagi into
the States was the only usable antenna - so with the propagation East or North
but the antenna to the West is not the best situation.... It cost us at least
350 QSOs there.

As always the multipliers - to the East were the real challenge - very often
not successful. To name a few ST2M, XV1X, both the T88, AH0, VR2...

Overall we are very happy with the result. We are happy that with our field day
setup we could compete with the huge setup at HK1NA.

Thanks for a QSO and hope to work you all in the CW leg again.
