Comments:

I just received an Elecraft KX3 a few days ago and really wanted to try it out
this weekend. I am very impressed with this little rig. I had to keep the cw
input in "key mode" so the computer could generate CW, this meant NO paddles
(because I don't have an external keyer). Another drawback, the radio would
get hot running full power out (12w) and throttle back. A 12v computer case
fan sitting about 6" away from the radio solved that problem. It really
performed well with crowded bands and loud signals.

Equipment: KX3 at full power driving a pair of 3cx800's, 500-800w out. Hexbeam
at 45', 40/80 fan dipole at 35'.
