Comments:

As usual the day after a phone contest, I always question my sanity just a
little :>)

I changed categories to multi op. with the late addition of K4MA as a second
operator. It was good to have Jim, my old multi/single partner back in front of
the radio. He has not been very active as of late due to work, travel and
raising teenagers. Hopefully he will be more active here in the future.

The contest started out slowly as I was blowing out some phone cobwebs.
Sweepstakes is very unforgiving of a slow start as QSOs lost in the first 4-6
hours can never be reclaimed. I have never exactly figured out this phenomena,
but have observed it to be true over the years. Even though the rate picked up
after the first 4 hours, we ended up about 100 QSOs shy of our all-time best
score from the station. I had higher hopes with the sunspot number at 141, but
the high bands just don't produce much rate from NC.

Congrats to our neighbor in-state and PVRC rivals, team K4OV. They got out to
an early lead and kept it going.

73,

Will AA4NC
